Tendu A La Seconde

Your child wants to dance. She is dancing around the house and you want to enroll them in a class. Ballet is a beautiful style of dance and watching younger children leap across the floor may be one of the greatest joys in life. However ballet is also a very disciplined style of dance.  Some say that kids shouldn’t be disciplined in dance class too early because it takes their time to be a kid and run around outside.  Developing discipline is not a bad thing for a kid to learn as it helps them learn and behave better.  So people ask where is the healthy balance?

At School of Dance & Music, our ballet/tap classes focus more on what the kids can do physically instead of pushing them to learn proper form right away. As they get older there is a natural time in place for those determined dancers in our curriculum.

If your child loves to dance but is not ready for the discipline of class, please know we have a 30 day guarantee for the first month for your child to take time deciding how much of each class to participate in as some children take their time and may want just watch parts of the first few classes.  If at the end of the first month the child and parent feel they would like to discontinue, then a full tuition refund is given.  Those parent that decide to wait do try again 6months to a year later with great success, while other children surprise their parents by showing them that their ready.

Dance will teach them how to listen to teachers and take direction.  We have very patient and skilled teachers that are willing to put in the time needed to get the kids to reach their goals! Give us a call if you would like to set up an introductory lesson for your child. We can’t wait to hear from you!
